Shoulder Abduction Test
Eurofit for Adults
The shoulder abduction sub-test of the Eurofit for Adults test battery provides a measure of shoulder flexibility.
Testing Procedure
The examinee sits down with the back against the wall. A device called a goniometer, that measures angle relative to the vertical is attached to the upper arm and set at zero with the arm hanging down to the side. The examinee than raises the arm as high as possible in a vertical plane midway between directly to the side and directly to the front. The range of motion through which the movement occurs, measured by the angle reading on the goniometer, is recorded.
